Lexus introduced the first luxury hybrid in 2005, the RX 400h. Next-gen Lexus hybrids now comprise an impressive percentage of the entire Lexus fleet, with a new plug-in (PHEV) joining the roster: the NX 450h+. Explore our Lexus Hybrid inventory at Lexus Escondido for a close-up of new hybrid Lexus vehicles.
Lexus Hybrid and PHEV Compact SUVs
The Lexus UXh, NXh, and NXh+ are the maker's hybrid and plug-in hybrid compact SUVs.
Combining a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with three electric motors, the Lexus UXh 250 has an estimated combined fuel economy of 39 mpg. AWD is standard, paired with a 10-speed Direct-Shift Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Upper trims include F Sport and Luxury.
The Lexus NXh 350 and NXh+ 450 achieve an estimated fuel economy of 39 and 37 mpg, respectively. The latter leaps from zero to 60 mph in roughly six seconds. A turbocharged 275-horsepower 2.4-liter helps power the Lexus NXh 350, while the NXh+ 450 produces a total system 304. Both come equipped with AWD and paddle shifters.
Lexus RX: Hybrid SUV
Refined, contemporary styling inside and out and a plush, tech-rich cabin distinguish the Lexus RX from other hybrid SUVs. Available in base, F Sport, and Luxury trims, it churns out 308 total system horsepower. That's sufficient to tow roughly 3,000 pounds over roads in San Marcos, CA, and Carlsbad. An eight-speed automatic transmission enhances electronic AWD, delivering instant torque.
Lexus ESh and LSh: Hybrid Midsize and Full-Size Sedans
Paddle shifters compliment the Lexus ESh eight-speed transmission, its motors and direct-injection 3.5-liter V6 boasting 302 horsepower. F-Sport Adaptive Variable Suspension monitors yaw, vehicle speed, and G-forces, tweaking suspension dampers automatically. Redesigned LED headlamps to give its coupe-like silhouette a fresh, refined look. Inside, the driver and passengers enjoy class-leading legroom for more comfortable commutes around Vista, CA.
The Lexus LSh has plenty of power to fuel its full-size body, going from standing still to 60 mph in about 4.6 seconds. That's thanks to its 354-horsepower twin-turbo V6. Drive Mode Select interfaces with Adaptive Variable Suspension and 10-speed Direct-Shift Automatic transmission, yielding smoothly to driver input via paddle shifters.
Lexus LCh: Luxury Coupe
A multi-stage hybrid luxury coupe, the Lexus LCh powertrain includes an Atkinson-cycle V6, electric motors, and a lithium-ion battery. It can easily zip past San Diego highway traffic owing to stabilizing Yamaha performance dampers and active sport exhaust. There's also an available speed-activated rear wing that augments high-speed handling and control by reducing lift.
