Lexus Escondido Centre hospitality focuses on uniqueness in amenities and personnel
ESCONDIDO—What does a real estate agent with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and managerial experience do to utilize his unique skill sets? He becomes the General Manager of one of the county's most intriguing places—The Centre at Lexus Escondido.
Drew Davis recently accepted his new position and feels it is the perfect fit for his education and background. “I love helping people, building relationships, developing systems, and being part of a unique vision of hospitality.”
The vision he speaks of comes from The Centre at Lexus Escondido's owner and President Judy Jones-Cone who designed The Centre as a premier destination with the philosophy that luxury is the ability to spend your time exactly how you choose to spend it. And, with the unique amenities this facility offers, it is so easy to accomplish just that.
The Centre is nothing short of intriguing because it is a world within a world. At its heart lies the luxury “super dealership” that is Lexus Escondido. All the features you would expect to find at a luxury automotive agency are there including new and pre-owned cars sales and service. However, beyond these usual offerings are where this dealership diverges and transforms into The Centre.
While the outside driveway of The Centre features a palm tree-lined reflection pool and soon-to-be-completed dancing waters fountain, the inside is equally as breathtaking. Within the 336,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility a glass elevator lifts you to three stories of amenities you probably never dreamed of having in one place. These include: a golf simulator, a learning center, a business center, a private library with massage chairs, a children's area, retail shops, plush conference rooms and over 27,000 square feet of event space—complete with outdoor fire pits—that can be used for concerts, weddings, banquets and more. On the ground floor at The Centre's Cyber Café, they serve complimentary Peet’s coffee and an assortment of delicious pastries. In addition to all of this, a 10,000 square-foot restaurant featuring California-style cuisine will soon be opening on the third floor where guests can enjoy stunning views of the local mountains and city through 17-foot-high windows.
“Vintana is the name of the new restaurant that we are opening in partnership with the Cohn Restaurant Group,” Davis explained. “The name comes from the combination of the Spanish word for windows—ventana—and the focus on fine wines—vin—which will be sold in the restaurant's retail wine shop.”
The Cohn Restaurant Group owns and operates more than a dozen of the most well-known and well-loved San Diego restaurants such as the Indigo Grill, the Prado at Balboa Park, Island Prime, and the Corvette Diner. Executive Chef Deborah Scott, who has co-created the Indigo Grill, Kemo Sabe and Island Prime with the Cohn’s will also be at the helm of Vintana. She visualizes the menu as moderately priced California cuisine with entrees costing under $25. Vintana will be opening in the first quarter of 2012.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Cohn Restaurant Group and we are equally as excited to be able to work with the city of Escondido as we move forward towards building a strong sense of community and growth for this special area,” said Davis.
The other part of The Centre that is under development is the third-floor retail collection. The vision is to bring in high-end boutique shops possibly featuring a tailor, salon, gourmet chocolates, dresses, and a jewelry company.
“By offering such unique amenities in one beautifully constructed facility we are creating a destination experience,” Davis added. “Our hope is that visitors will feel welcomed, relaxed and cared for here. That's what hospitality means to us and we want to not only meet but exceed people's expectations of our services.”
